Brilliant Green at the Zetland Store Gallery, Sydney

Brilliant Green is a book exploring plant intelligence and inspired Zoe Sernack and I to see our subject matter in a new light and to create a body of work in a completely new way. With two distinctive styles of investigating and representing the natural world, Zoe and I are both enchanted with plants, their intelligence and their effects on people.

The decision to bring our styles together in a collaborative body of work is a leap into the unknown and a way for us to explore the ideas of trust, adaptability and collaboration over competition, mimicking the plant world in the very way they create the work.

By finishing each others’ works, we relinquished control and allowed the work to evolve and grow in a new way according to its’ new environment.
